    • 21
  • Bombers 24, Wolverines 21

Wow! If the rest of the 2017 Bomber Football season plays out like the first meeting between Richland and Bellevue then we are in for an incredible ride. A very large Richland crowd featuring what seemed like the entire class of 1981 witnessed a thrilling 24-21 Bomber victory at Memorial Stadium in Bellevue. Penalties—spefically encroachment and off sides— and turnovers were

      Bombers

  • Richland 56, Wenatchee 8

The Wenatchee Panthers came to town and went toe-to-toe with the Bombers through one series. It wasn't enough. Cade Jensen and the Richland offense proceeded in scoring on eight straight possessions en route to a 56-8 home opening victory on a warm, and thankfully clear, September evening. The first half barage started on the Wenatchee 48 yard line. Starting with the run and gradually m

      Bombers
    • 48
  • Richland 48, Kennewick 7

A Richland vs Kennewick football game doesn’t always end with a close score, but it always includes big plays, hard hits, and intense competition. This year didn’t disappoint. The Lions came in as underdogs to the 2-0 Bombers, but they also came in looking for a win. With linebackers Victor Strasser and Parker McCary out with injuries, this week may have been their best chance. It t

  • Bombers 63, Southridge 14

The Southridge Suns came to play, fully intending to make the best of their game with the 3-0 Bombers. After what looked like a long kickoff return was cut short when Cody Sanderson slipped at midfield, the Suns wasted no time in turning the game their way by causing and recovering a fumble, which they used to get within scoring range with a short catch and long run by their star receiver Eric

In 2009 the WIAA instituted the running clock rule. If one team was winning by 45 or more points, the second half clock would run constantly, stopping only for a called time out or official reasons. In 2011 they reduced that number to 40 points. The Richland Bombers, after their 63-7 win over Pasco, have had four consecutive running clock games. The win over the Pasco Bulldogs wasn't un

    • 33
  • Richland 33, Kamiakin 0

"No one hits like the Green & Gold" is a phrase the Kamiakin Braves probably have running through their heads as they wake up the day after a big loss to the Richland Bombers. Kamiakin brought their undefeated record and some swagger to Fran Rish—swarming at mid-field before kickoff to chant "our house"—but left with a 33-0 drubbing and some serious bruises. It was the third con
GAME 7: Friday October 13, 2017 — Borleske Stadium
    • Richland
      Bombers
    • 39
    • Walla Walla
      Blue Devils
    • 6
  • Richland 39, Walla Walla 6

The Bomber defense flexed its collective muscles once again, this time at a cold, wet Borleske Stadium, holding the Walla Walla Blue Devils to just over 100 yards of offense, 50 of which came on a single scoring run in the fourth quarter against a motley assortment of JV defenders. While the 39-6 final score wasn't as lopsided as many expected, the Bomber still came out with a decisive win.
GAME 8: Friday October 20, 2017 — Fran Rish Stadium

      Riverhawks
    • 20
    • Richland
      Bombers
    • 21
  • Richland 21, Chiawana 20

Richland's game against Kamiakin got a lot of hype as the biggest test of the season, but the Chiawana Riverhawks showed the hype to be just hype after all. The Bombers started out fast, completing passes and running easily on the first drive, getting from their own 20 to the red zone in five plays. Spectators began to wonder if it could really be that easy all night. The answer was obviously n

    • Hanford
      Falcons
    • 0
  • Bombers 50, Falcons 0

The season finale match-up between the Richland Bombers and the Hanford Falcons seemed, for a few fleeting minutes, like it would be a contest this year, but a few key plays and some tough defense brought the Bomber swagger back and turned the contest into a 50-0 blowout. Those 50 points are the most scored in the 13 game series, beating last year's 49, and the largest margin of victory as well
GAME 10: Friday November 3, 2017 — Edgar Brown Memorial Stadium
    • Mead
      Panthers
    • 7
    • Richland
      Bombers
    • 62
  • Richland 62, Mead 7

Bomber fans, if you weren't at Edgar Brown Stadium for the district playoff game, you missed a memorable one. The Richland Bombers knocked off the the Greater Spokane League third place Mead Panthers in convincing fashion, 62-7. That score isn't exactly new territory for the Bombers, having scored over 60 points in the first half twice already this season, but the way they did it was different.

  • Bombers 62, West Valley 28

Dreams can come true, but unfortunately for the West Valley Rams, putting a solitary L on the undefeated Richland Bombers was the not the dream that would become reality in the first of the state playoffs. The dream belonged to a couple of Bombers who have been trying for big defensive plays and coming up just short for a while now. West Valley, the number two team from the Big 9 had a

The week preceding the matchup between the Richland Bombers and Gonzaga Prep Bullpups was full of anxiety and questions. Would the Bombers be able to overcome recent history against Gonzaga Prep, including the 2015 4A Semifinal? Would the Bomber defense be able to effectively handle the Bullpups confusing running game? Would the Bullpups stadium be able to handle the throng of Bombers coming in

The Tacoma Dome. For those living in it's shadow, it is a harbinger of severe traffic gridlock. To the Richland Bombers and Central Valley Bears, it is the promised land. Recent history had not been kind to the Bears as the Bombers have ended their season each of the last two years by a combined score of 67-3. But this year's Bears were coming in on a roll having won ten in a row includ

It was beautiful. Then it was scary. Then it was beautiful, again. The Richland Bombers and Woodinville Falcons came together in the Tacoma Dome to decide the 2017 4A State Championship. Both teams were undefeated and had plowed through the state playoffs. Having never played one another, the game was impossible to predict and that's why the games are played on a field rather
