Game Recap September 24, 2011
Not to overstate the obvious but Davis is for real. The Bombers and Pirates traded touchdowns from the first quarter to the fourth in a very exciting, very evenly played game but Davis got the better end of the Kansas City overtime and clinced the victory with an interception in the end zone to preserve the 34-27 Pirate win. It was the first win for Davis over Richland since 1998 and only the third victory since 1969.
There were many heroes on both side of the ball with each team running up 400 yards in total offense. The Bombers had plenty of opportunities to win this game but in the end were done in by a bad snap on the extra point that might have won the game. Overall, though, both teams should be proud of their performance in a tight, well-fought game.
Next up, the Chiawana Riverhawks.
Go Bombers!
